Product Description
The ORIX Shadow Gap Ceiling Profile creates a clean recessed perimeter detail where a gypsum ceiling meets the wall. Its extruded aluminium construction combines a defined architectural edge with a concealed position for linear lighting, keeping the LED source out of direct view.
The profile works particularly well for curtain pockets, ceiling indents and illuminated perimeter details, where a sharp ceiling line and controlled indirect light need to work together.
Shadow Gap Ceiling Profile with Concealed Lighting
The internal geometry positions the LED strip inside the recess rather than directly facing the room. Therefore, the profile produces indirect illumination while reducing direct glare and visible LED points.
A 20.7 mm projection defines the wall-side detail, while the overall profile height reaches approximately 51.5 mm. These dimensions give contractors a fixed geometry for coordinating the ceiling edge, wall junction and concealed lighting channel.
The recessed arrangement also keeps the light source visually secondary. Instead of seeing the LED strip itself, occupants mainly see the illuminated architectural surface and the defined shadow line around the ceiling.
Designed for Curtain Pockets and Ceiling Indents
Curtain recesses often require several elements to meet within a limited ceiling depth. The Shadow Gap Ceiling Profile creates a controlled edge around this area while keeping the lighting source concealed.
Designers can use it alongside full-height curtains, sheer curtains and recessed curtain tracks. Moreover, the profile can continue beyond the curtain zone to establish a consistent perimeter line across the room.
The same geometry suits ceiling indents and recessed architectural features where designers want indirect lighting without an exposed aluminium channel.
Perforated Plastering Flange
A perforated fixing flange anchors the profile into the gypsum or plasterboard construction.
Installers secure the aluminium section before applying the final finishing compound. The plaster then covers the perforated flange, leaving the architectural edge and lighting recess as the visible elements.
This installation method creates a cleaner transition than adding a surface-mounted trim after the ceiling finish.
Aluminium Construction and Finishes
The extruded aluminium body maintains straight geometry across continuous installations and gives the finishing contractor defined edges to work against.
Available finishes include aluminium, white and black. The profile comes in a 3-metre length, which reduces the number of connections required on longer ceiling runs.
